THE GIRL OF THE IMPOSSIBLE HEARTBEAT

CHAPTER 1: The Diagnosis No One Could Believe

Chapter 2 ยท 1 minute read

On the seventh day of her admission, two visiting specialists arrived at the hospital.

Dr. Sumitra Rao.

One of India's most respected gynecologists.

And her husband, Dr. Krishnamurthy Rao, a legendary pediatric specialist.

The elderly couple had spent decades solving medical mysteries.

This would become the strangest case of their careers.

After numerous examinations, scans, and genetic studies, Dr. Sumitra finally called Alankrita's parents into her office.

Her expression was calm.

Her voice was not.

"Your daughter is pregnant."

The room fell silent.

Her mother laughed nervously.

Her father stared.

Then anger came.

Then disbelief.

Then fear.

Dr. Sumitra continued.

"There is no evidence of physical intimacy. Every examination confirms that. Yet the pregnancy exists."

She paused.

"The current theory is an extremely rare genetic phenomenon occurring without fertilization by a male reproductive cell. It should not be possible according to conventional understanding, and yet medically... the pregnancy is real."

Her parents were devastated.

Not because they hated their daughter.

Because they knew society would never believe her.
