THE GIRL OF THE IMPOSSIBLE HEARTBEAT

CHAPTER 63: The First Cry

Chapter 64 ยท 1 minute read

Twenty hours after the storm began,

everything changed.

One final push.

One final cry.

Then,

another cry.

Smaller.

Higher.

Newer.

The room stopped moving.

The world stopped moving.

The crying continued.

A tiny boy entered the world angry at absolutely everything.

Alankrita looked at him through tears and exhaustion.

Her son.

Her impossible little boy.

The nurses placed him gently into her arms.

She stared.

Tiny fingers.

Tiny nose.

Tiny eyelashes.

Tiny fists.

Perfect.

Completely perfect.

He cried loudly.

Furiously.

Offended by existence itself.

Alankrita laughed through tears.

"You really made me cry for so long, tandri."

She kissed his forehead softly.

Then something happened.

He heard her voice.

His crying slowed.

Stopped.

The room became silent.

He looked toward her.

Toward the voice he had heard for months.

The heartbeat he knew better than his own.

And he became calm.

Dr. Ellis smiled.

"Looks like he knows his mother."
